Nestled in the mountains seven miles northeast of Newport, Marshall Lake is a favorite lake to many who visit there. Half of the shoreline is surrounded by National Forest and the other half is private land, whose owners protect the beauty of this lake. Being a deep lake which is fed by two mountain streams, the water remains clear all season long. There is a 5 mph speed limit on the lake making it a very peaceful lake to relax on. The Cutthroat trout run in the 8-12 range. There is a resort on the lake that has a campground and boat rentals. In the 48 years that I have been going up to Marshall Lake, little has changed over those years. It is truly a little piece of heaven on earth. My special thanks to Mario DaSilva for contributing his music for this video.
